Ash in the Winter Compost Pile

Ash in the Winter Compost Pile

Ash in the Winter Compost Pile Wood ash can be a great addition to the garden. It contains potassium which is a vital nutrient for your garden crops. Just as it does in humans, potassium regulates plants’ water balance, and has a part in transporting food within the plant and creating sugars and starches. Smoked Watermelon Ham a la Duck’s Eatery and 2018 closeout

Hello all. Just a quick rundown of what’s happened this year with Mrdirtfarmer’s Ash.  We repackaged the ash in a heavier plastic bag as per several customer suggestions. Offered an unfiltered ash option in 10lb and 20lb weights. Found out about all the different ways that ash is used by customers. Chicken dust bath, ceramic glaze, silver polish and gardening are but a few.  The most interesting use this year was several customers using mrdirtfarmer ash for making the Smoked Watermelon Ham a la Duck’s Eatery in New York City. Check Youtube. They are not going to release that recipe, but people...
